Since it is friday, I thought I would take a break from roofing news and post something a little different.  As an avid fan of TEDTalks, I came across this inspiring video and wanted to use it as a way to thank all of the great Homeowners we have worked with.

As we are in the midst of STORM SEASON, you may be wondering what kind of protection the GAF shingles offer...

The GAF Sovereign is a 3-Tab shingle designed to withstand winds up to 60 mph.  GAF provides a 25 year limited lifetime warranty for this particular shingle.  The warranty is non-prorated, for installation labor and materials, for the first five years.  After the first five years, the roof value is prorated.  Carolina Shingle always provides a 5 year "No Leak" workmanship warranty on the roof which means if there is any leaking due to workmanship within the first five years, we will take care of it.

The GAF Timberline is an Architectural shingle that is designed to hold up to 110 mph.  GAF provides a 50 year or Lifetime limited warranty on this particular shingle.  The warranty is non-prorated, for installation labor and materials, for the first fifteen years.  After the first fifteen years, the roof value is prorated.  The 50 year or Lifetime manufacturer's warranty means it is good for as long as the original owner owns the property where the shingles have been installed.  The warranty may be transferred once and the second owner must notify GAF in writing within the first 60 days after the property transfer.  Carolina Shingle always provides a 5 year "No Leak" workmanship warranty on the roof which means if there is any leaking due to workmanship within the first five years, we will take care of it.

Carolina Shingle wants to wish all the great dads out there a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! 

Lots of things going on this weekend in Charlotte, so take the kids out and have a great time!  See below for a few of ideas of things to do!

• Dads get FREE admission to Zootastic Park on Sunday, June 17th, 2012 from 1 to 5pm.  Kids under 12 admission is $6 every day.
• Have a tasty cookout in the backyard!
• Attend a FREE BBQ class at the 7th Street Public Market from 11am to 2pm.  There will be tastings and live bluegrass music with a chance to win a CharBroil Smoker grill set.
• Enjoy the day by cooling off at your local pool or Ray's Splash Planet...Dads get FREE admission on Sunday, June 17th, from 1pm to 6:30pm.
• Dads get FREE admission to the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art on Saturday, June 16th and Sunday, June 17th.  Kids also get free admission on Saturday from 12pm to 4:30pm.  Special family activities are scheduled for Saturday as well!

Hail Storm Video!

Check out this HAIL storm from April 12, 2012 in Texas!  As you can hear in the video, this is NOT snow, it is hail.  Good thing we don't see this in the Carolinas!
